Angular contact ball bearing and shoulder tightness detection method
1. Lighting method
Use a spotlight light source to aim at the bearing and shoulder position, and judge according to the light leakage. If there is no light leakage at the connection between the bearing and the shoulder, it means that the installation is tight. If there is uniform light leakage along the shoulder position, it means that the bearing is not tight against the shoulder, and pressure should be applied to the bearing to make the two close. If there is partial light leakage, it may be that the bearing is installed tilted. You can use a hammer, stick or sleeve to knock the inner ring of the bearing and slowly adjust and correct it.
2. Feeler gauge inspection method
The feeler gauge is also called a thickness gauge. It is made of a combination of many thin steel sheets. The thickness of the steel sheets (gauge pieces) is different. It is used to detect the gap between the two joint surfaces. The thickness of the feeler gauge generally starts from 0.03mm. When inspecting, you can try to insert it in multiple places on the end face of the inner ring of the bearing and the entire circumference of the shoulder. Insert several more positions. If there is a gap and the gap is uniform, it means that the bearing is not installed in place. Pressuring the inner ring of the bearing can make it close to the shoulder. If the bearing still cannot be tightly fitted even with increased pressure, it means that the fillet of the journal is too large and the bearing is stuck. The journal fillet should be adjusted to make it smaller. If you find that the feeler gauge can pass through some parts of the inner ring end face and the bearing shoulder, there may be a tilted installation. In this case, you need to disassemble and reinstall. If the bearing is installed in the bearing seat hole with an interference fit and the outer ring of the bearing is fixed by the housing hole shoulder, you can also use a feeler gauge to check whether the outer ring end face and the housing hole shoulder end face are tightly fitted and whether they are installed correctly.
