Outer spherical ball bearings are actually a variant of deep groove ball bearings, characterized by a spherical outer diameter surface on its outer ring, which can be fitted into the corresponding concave spherical surface of the bearing seat for centering. Outer spherical bearings are mainly used to withstand combined radial and axial loads, mainly radial loads, and are generally not suitable for bearing axial loads alone.
Although its basic performance should be similar to that of deep groove ball bearings, due to the fact that this type of bearing is mostly used in rough machinery, the installation and positioning are not accurate enough, the axis alignment between the shaft and the seat hole is misaligned, or the shaft is long and has a large deflection, and the accuracy of the bearing itself is not high enough, some structures are also rough, so the actual performance of deep groove ball bearings with the same specifications is quite discounted. For example, the outer spherical ball bearing with top thread is applied to shafts with large stiffness and deflection differences. This type of bearing has sealing rings on both sides to tightly prevent dirt from entering and is already filled at the factory.
An appropriate amount of lubricant is not required to be cleaned or replenished before installation. When tightening the top screw on the protruding end of the bearing inner ring on the shaft, the allowable axial load shall not exceed 20% of the rated dynamic load.
The performance of the outer spherical ball bearing with eccentric sleeve is basically the same as that of the outer spherical ball bearing with top wire, except that the top wire is not on the inner ring, but on the eccentric sleeve. The inner hole of the conical bore outer spherical ball bearing is a conical bore with a 1:12 taper, which can be directly installed on the conical shaft or installed on the shoulder free optical axis with the help of a tightening sleeve, and the bearing clearance can be adjusted.
Outer spherical bearings are preferred for applications that require simple equipment and components, such as agricultural machinery, transportation systems, or construction machinery.
It is mainly used to bear radial and axial combined loads, mainly radial loads. Generally, it is not suitable to bear axial loads alone. This type of bearing can be separately installed with an inner ring (with a full set of rollers and retainers) and an outer ring. This type of bearing does not allow the shaft to tilt relative to the housing, as it will generate additional axial force under radial load. The size of the axial clearance of this type of bearing is closely related to its normal operation. When the axial clearance is too small, the temperature rise is relatively high; When the axial clearance is large, the bearing is prone to damage. Therefore, special attention should be paid to adjusting the axial clearance of the bearing during installation and operation. If necessary, pre interference installation can be used to increase the rigidity of the bearing.
